We're flying into Cozumel, and will only be there one night. We're looking for an inexpensive, cute hotel...any recommendations?

  1. I would recommend you to stay instead in Playa del Carmen which is the small city in continental Mexico that is just in front of Cozumel island. Hotels there are far more cheaper than Cozumel's. It is also a place with excellent ambient. You can go from Playa del Carmen to Cozumel in ferries that go each hour to the island. Taking a ferry from Playa del C. is very easy because the port is at a walking distance from most hotels in there. I would recommed you Hotel Vista Caribe I think it is like $100 per night but the place is fine.

    Have fun!!!

  2. I recommend that you stay at Vista del Mar.  It is aprox. $80/night.  It is on the waterfront street about 3 blocks north of the town square.  It is easy walking distance to all the downtown restaurants and bars.  If you were hoping for something around $40/night, we have also stayed at Hotel Aguilar, which is close to the above hotel, but it is older, basic and not on waterfront.  The rooms were clean and they also have a small pool in the courtyard.

It is unfortunate that you only have one night in Cozumel.  Next time plan on staying longer, you will love it!  We love it so much and go so often that we finally built a house there!

  3. try this website for a one night stay.

Check out the Palma Dorada Inn (located downtown San Miguel)

    enjoy and good luck)

  4. I would suggest Hotel Caribe Blu, it is ocean front and just south of town. It is not 5 star, but it is clean and everyone is super friendly. It is usually full of repeat guest. Cute hotel, very authentic Mexican owned hotel. ($80.00, US) They like cash!

I usually stay at the Cozumel Palace and dive with the Caribe Blu's dive shop, but I have stayed there before. The rooms are large and very clean and they all have A/C and cable TV, even internet.

Above the dive shop, which is located next to hotel, is a small restaurant which serves a good breakfast with a view.
