i overclocked my q6600 cpu and one of the things i did was change the multiplier from 6 to 9, but when i look at cpu-z or ai booster( came with my asus mobo) the multiplier switches back and forth between 6 and 9. How do i get it to stay at 9?

  1. the Q6600 has a built in function that allows it to scale down to a lower multiplier when not in full use, such as idle desktop use, and then scale back up when it needs it, such as playing a game. In the bios there should be an option to disable this feature. Just switch it off and you should be set. Unfortunately, because I do not know your motherboard model, I can't direct you much more than that.
