  1. Try the following.

    USING THE WINDOWS REPAIR CONSOLE

Put your XP disk into your CD drive and restart your system.  This will start the XP installation process.  When you come to the screen that asks if you want to install XP or if you would like to “Repair” XP, choose Repair.  This will open the repair console command prompt.  At the prompt, type:  chkdsk /r.  (There is a space between the k and the /.  Now hit “Enter”.  The repair should now start.  Allow it to run until it stops.  This can take some time, so be patient.

If all goes well, XP will replace or repair any and all missing operating system files.

Note 1:  Before attempting the above, you must first enter the BIOS to make sure that the boot sequence is set so that the CD drive boots before the hard drive.

Note 2:  If you do not have an XP installation CD, you can borrow one for this operation.  Since you are “Repairing” Windows and not “installing” it, you will not be required to supply an installation KEY.

  2. This is what you can do its not a complete resolution of your problem as your question is incomplete.

Shutdown computer by pressing power button for 5 seconds.

remove power cable from the back of the CPU/Chassis.

Again press power button(keep it pressed) for 10 seconds and then release.

reconnect power cable, and power on the computer, press or tap on F8 when it starts booting, until you reach a screen (black) which says Advance Configuration

    safe mode

    safe mode with command prompt

    safe mode with networking

At this point  of time select the option "Disable automatic Restart on Failure" by using up and down arrows on the keyboard .

Now probably you would see 4 things

    1. Blue Screen with Stop Error (most probable)

    2. Black screen with a White blinking cursor

    3. Beep sounds coming from the CPU (very rare)

    4. You would boot into windows.

If you see Blue screen , note down the Stop Error (eg 0x000 etc) and also the note down the file name which caused the error and the thing that is written in capital letters. Google the stop error

If you see Black screen with blinking cursor , their could be a problem with your hard drive, check hardrive, repair Xp.

Beep sounds means a hardware  problem, google it

reply back if you do not understand anything,

  3. try molesting it then do it

  4. It might be a problem with the registry or windows files.  Try restoring it with the windows cd, if that doens't work, re-install windows.
