  1. If its a CRF85 then no i personaly i dont think that is a good bike for you because you only weigh 130 pounds i think you should go down to a 70 because i have a CRF50 an d i weigh 65 pounds and i have to go to a KTM65 because i want a faster bike and because im not heavy enough for a 70 and i will just get thrown off the CRF70.

  2. You might want to check the rules at the tracks you plan to run first. You may be able to run the 85 class at 15 but I'm pretty sure that is the limit so if you have a birthday coming soon the 85 might not be the way to go. Even if you don't you will only be able to race this bike one year in the 85 class. You may want to consider moving to a 125/250F and running the schoolboy class.

  3. As  a beginners bike the Kx 85 is a much more forgiving option to start with, but if you are going to compete and have some ability the Cr85 is a more powerful bike.  The Kx doesnt have as much of a hit with power but once you get to competing against better riders the Kx is outclassed.  The KTM comes with all the added extras but they are nickname Cost Too Much for a reason.

At 15 I think you would be almost to the stage where you should be looking at a 125cc or a 250 4 stroke as you would almost be too big for the 85.  I dont know what class restrictions you have where you are but at 15 in Australia you would only be allowed to race a 85 for another year and then you would be too old.

Another option is the CRF150R and they are a good bike although they do tend to require a lot of maintenance to keep them race ready and you cannot ride them and ride them without doing the maintenance or they will blow up.  You really need a motominder to log the hours that you are on them.

I would also not listen to the person who commented that Hondas are c**p but rather look up the reports on the bikes as the Kx is way down the list as the preferred bike.  My son races at a  high level in both Motocross and Supercross and started on the kx and ended up having to get rid of it as it just could not compete against the Cr's or Ktms.   Dont get me wrong the Kx's in the bigger bikes are good but the 85's just cannot compete.

  4. i wouldnt get a cr85. honda sucks get a kx. i would say get a 125 that would be your best bet and there are many classes you can race in as a 15 year old on a 125. the only classes you could race is super mini and open a 85 in and when tou turn 16 you will have to get a biger bike. a 125 would last you alot longer than an 85 would.
