  1. call one of the companies that can patch on the spot that will save you the $$ and also avoid any larger cracks.

m,y friend used this service some years back and it does work.

  2. It will be fine for you to drive. There are many vehicles on the road that have had cracked  windows for a long time. A windshield uses safety glass so it will not cave in or anything like that so just replace it when you can.

  3. You can't fix a crack, just replace the windshield...

It wont 'break' on you. There is multiple layers to a windshild, they are not like the rest of the windows in your car, a windshield is a whole lot stronger.

You can still drive with it. Many states will allow a dollar bill in length crack, or longer as long as it isn't in your direct viewing field.

  4. OK bud there is no need to worry. the worse thing that will happen is that it might spread. if you are going to have it replaced in two weeks then you will be alright. you will be fine til then. you might want to check with Glass Masters first they have pretty good rates if you are not covered by your insurance. you know if this is just one crack it is not a bad thing. i am a certified safety inspector for the Virginia State Police. this is not considered as a safety issue. YOU WILL NOT GET STOPPED FOR A CRACKED WINDSHIELD.

  5. No issues with a cracked windshield...just looks cheap...cannot be repaired....must be replaced.....your insurance should cover the replacement cost if you have full coverage...if not all around and tell the shop you will be paying for it and they will cut you a deal...or get one from a junk yard...$100 and have a shop put it in  $100.

  6. No it wont break on you and you will be fine.

  7. As long as it isn't in your viewing range, you can drive with it and probably won't get stopped.  It can continue to spread and grow in size, and might even change direction on you, but it won't "break" in the sense of suddenly shattering or falling out on you.

Unfortunately dollar bill size is the biggest they can stop the crack and perhaps fix it, once it gets bigger than that your only option is to replace the windshield.
