Cracked Screen On Iphone?

Question

So i cracked my iphone last night :( and has massive scratches marks across the screen it still all works the screen but it looks so bad and want to replace it? will they mend the phone if i send it off? or will i have to pay? i dunno how i did it was in my pocket and took it out and it had crackes over it:(. I live in Uk
