hi it could be welded but you must take it to a specialist aluminium welding company as special equipment is needed to repair aluminium correctly or the other option is a company called metalock they specialise in repairs to castings but neither method is cheap so check out the cost of a new casing first to see which is the most economical way of tackling this problem good luck hope this helps

Try "JB Weld" - available at hardware stores.

It's an epoxy that is as hard as steel when it cures.

I've used it many times with great success.

Ally welding isn't always a great solution. Depends where the crack is.

I have in the past repaired engine casings with a good dollop of Araldite (on the inside).  Maybe JB Weld is the modern equivelant.

What kind of scooter? If it's Chinese or Korean just junk it. If it's a Honda or Yamaha, fnd a good used engine for it on eBay or craigslist.

go to craigslist, find someone selling a used one, and just take the motor out of it.
