Cracking Choice looking for first win in ESH Construction Nursery
Cracking Choice will be chasing his maiden victory in the ESH Construction Nursery at Newcastle in England on Friday, August 17, 2012. He is new to the sport and has to learn a lot in order to win races with consistency, but there is no doubt over his talent.
The young runner will not find things easy at all in the class-6 event, as he will be up against some fierce competitors such as Sandsend and Modern Lady. Both of them have been given better odds for victory, as the bookmakers expect them to be fighting
each other for a position at the top.
However, Cracking Choice has got extremely good speed and he can definitely surprise his rivals over a distance of 5 furlongs in order to win the cash prize of £1,617. He will be a touch nervous, but there is a chance for him to make a name for himself.
He will enter the event with a starting price of 6 to 1 and the punters will definitely be risking a few bets in his favour.
The two-year-old colt has participated in just three events until now and has not tasted success in any of them. He started off his career on a positive note, but failed to carry on with the same momentum afterwards.
The Michael Dods’ trainee was priced 9 to 1 in his first race and was up against some very good runners. He showed good skills back then, but had to settle for the runner up position at the end of the day.
Next time around, the young runner was expected to be competitive, but he struggled to meet the expectations of his team. The race was affected by rain and he did not like the conditions at all.
However, things were looking extremely good for the Irish runner in his most recent outing, as the bookies gave him the best odds for victory. He was unable to make an impression though and ended up in a disappointing fourth place overall. He was held up
at the start back then and did not have the speed to make up for that in the end.
Despite that, Cracking Choice will be a force to reckon with today. He will be partnered by seasoned jockey, Paul Mulrennan, who has been accompanying him since the start of his career.
