I have a 9 year old staying with me this week and she loves to do crafts. I have construction paper and basic craft supplies, does anyone have any suggestions to things we can make or do? I have already taught her how to make friendship bracelets. Websites would be great!

  1. you could go buy some pretty beads so she can make a necklace, they don't have to be expensive. she might also like learning how to do some basic origami, http://www.origami-instructions.com/, that could be pretty fun. you could also make face masks out of the construction paper and some string. ex: lion mask, dog mask. when i was in fourth grade we made these paper cutouts for cinco de mayo, http://www.mexart.org/paperpecado/paperp... they're really fun and impossible to mess up, its like making a paper snowflake

  2. i would use webkinz.com and look in the crafty criters section(you dont have to log)

there also is a website my mom uses with her students called enchantedlearning.com there are activities for just about anything.

  3. I have two:  Sculpy clay is a clay that you can bake to make hard.  My daughter loves to make things out of it and them we bake it so it becomes pottery-like.  You can make beads with it and bake them or just little sculptures.  At Michael's they have free idea booklets in the isle.  It comes in a ton of colors so you don't need to paint it.

The next one is window sticker paint kits.  You can buy a kit that includes paints stencils, molds and plastic sheets.  you paint your design on a plastic sheet then when it's dry you peel it off and put it on a window.

You can buy both of those at a michael's or other craft store.

    Have fun!

  4. Rain makers are fun to make! We did them with my nephews who are both 8 and they enjoyed it alot.

    SUPPLIES

    -paper towel rolls

    -balloons

    -uncooked rice

    -tin foil

    -paint

    -glue

    DIRECTIONS

Take the paper towel roll smear some glue on one of the ends. Cut of the tip of one of the balloons and strach it over the end with glue on it.Take tin foil and roll it up slightly loose at the length of the roll. Put it in the roll and then put some rice. Cover the other end and shake the roll back and forth. Decide if you need more rice or if its ok. If its ok then repeat doing the same thing as in the beginning with the glue and the balloon. Then paint as desired!
