Craft String braclets?

Question

I often make braclets out of that string that is really cheap. People braid them or make chineese staircase and i can d othose, but i have been trying t odo macrome...i am not sure how to spell it, maybe it is spelled like macarame. i dont know, but i know that u need to make loops around each color or something...but i need step by step instructions and i cant find anything on the internet! please help!
