My friend is in charge of crafts for the kids at her school, and she only has paper to work with (kids aren't allowed to cut and there isn't anything like glue or yawn). What can she do for crafts that isn't as complicated as origami?

  2. Here is some extremely simple origami.

  3. No scissors, or glue?  Just paper only?

Origami is the only thing I can think of....and it's not as hard as ppl thing it is.

  4. They could make cards for their parents, to thank them for sending them to the school or whatever camp or thing they're at. All you need is paper, cranyons or pens or markers or pencils.

  5. You could look for more cimple kinds of origame that could work for young children as long as they follow the teacher folding step by step.

Otherwise they could paint and draw.

Better still, they could paint and draw, then make it into an origami.

This here is a website for simple origami.

  6. There are lots of techniques of folding paper that are more simple than origami maybe folding papers is the best way to go.  Paper Sailor hats, teabag folds which are simple as well .  The children drawing their own designs onto the paper then folding it into shapes .Folding the paper into quarters or eights and tearing so as to get a snow design patterns.  Paper Lanterns and fans. Making paper flowers out of paper and decorating them with colours.

  7. Origami

  8. origami isn't all that complicated

  9. Kids not allowed to cut? What about plastic scissors?

As a kid, I loved making those frost "stars".

Just fold up your paper in eight (fold it so you have a triangle)

and cut some forms in it, then when you open it, you have a lovely star.

  10. paper planes, fans, chatter boxes, lantons, boats, drawings, snaps or you could look for tips on google i do that when i get stuck for what to do with the children i work with i hope this helps good luck :)

  11. Go to this site - although it is a subscriber site - it does allow you to view all the crafts - you choose what material you want to make the craft out of - and click for a photo and easy instructions.

    Lots of paper plate crafts

and I forgot all about the puppets from lunch bags.

I can't imagine no glue - I'm sure you could safely control children with glue sticks.  Or basic old fashioned school paste.  (that's even edible)  although I don't recommend it for lunch.

What about making play dough?  Or painting?

Or the old fashioned macaroni pictures - forgot you need glue.

You definitely need some art/craft supplies -

maybe you could organize a bake sale, or rummage sale to generate some money for supplies - or ask for donations from the larger super stores, walmart, kmart etc.  they are very generous - is there a county office for the youth bureau?  Ask there too.  Maybe you could get a cash donation from one of the larger businesses in your community.

    have fun -

  12. What about doing paper mache? If there's no glue, she can make paper mache paste from flour and water if need be.

( Although I prefer to use Elmer's glue watered down by a little water if I don't have regular paper mache paste)

For my classes sometimes I have went out and bought a bag of latex balloons ( like 98 cents for 50 of them) Use those to do the paper mache on. Then use colored paper to paper mache over the plain paper once it's dry for color.

I think your friend needs to ask for some supplies from her school if she is put in charge of a class:0)

    Good luck!
