  1. you can have your four year old finger pain with home made pudding. Just get a roll of freezer paper(at your store, comes in a roll), make up some vanilla pudding, put the pudding in pot pie bowls add some food coloring and let them pain a picture. The clean up is not bad and if they eat the pudding no big deal

  2. GO to a craft store or a hobby store and look around and see what you can find I am sure something will jump out at you. Try a few things and see what you like and you might find something that might make you a good extra income.

    good luck

  3. thats good as long as you keep them happy then the will have fun

  4. *Any of those foam crafts would be great for that age. They have alot of different kits for those at Micheals craft store.

    *Shake and Paint Activity

Take a large empty Oatmeal container and tape a piece of white paper inside. Now take a couple of broken crayons and dip them in some kids paint. They just need to have a little paint on them. Put them inside the container and then put the lid back on. Now let your toddler take the container and shake it, roll it on the floor, kick it or whatever to move the crayons around inside. Then take the lid off and see what the crayons and paint did on the paper!

    Supplies Needed-

    - large oatmeal container (if you don't have one, you can always use a cereal box too.)

    - crayons, broken

    - kids paint

    - white paper

    *MAKE YOUR OWN TAMBOURINE

    You will need :

    - 2 paper plates

    - Stapler

    - Beans or rice

    - Paint

    - Stickers

    - Ribbon

Take two paper plates and staple them together putting beans or rice in the middle. Let the child paint or glue or put stickers and ribbon on the outside making their own tambourine.

    *Discovery bottles

fill an empty water bottle with objects such as paper clips, dice, small toys, glitter, rice, etc... glue the top on and as they turn it or shake it, new objects will come to the surface and it will make noise. This is a lot of fun!!

    *Snow Globes

fill an empty water bottle half with water and half with corn syrup. Add glitter, confetti, beads, paper clips, etc.. glue top on. the corn syrup will make the glitter and objects fall like a snow globe. I LOVE THIS ONE AND SO DO THE CHILDREN!!

*Please check out theideabox.com. This is the most awesome site I have found for crafts. Not only do they give ages and tools required on each kids craft, but also offer a "craft of the day" and the complete archives are available.

I hope I helped you out some. Have fun. That is a fun age.

  5. paint picture frams

    tie dye shirts

    painting on tshirts

*** walmart has a nice kid's crasft section in the super walmarts...see if there is soemthing ther you can find that is age apprpriate.

  6. try a website I use, for homeschooling, www.DTLK.com theres so much neat thigns on there to do. Hope this helps out. Also look up anything ot do with homeschooling, & you;ll find neat, free ideas for arts & crafts for all ages.

  7. paint and paste board..... but keep it simple like thumb painting! Its stimulating for young minds! It will keep them entertained for hours... Remember to have them interact with one another. Teach them team work.... It will make your job alot easier!

  8. Don't underestimate 4 year olds...the projects might not look how you want them for the picture frames or bangles but they sure would have fun doing them.  Don't try to over-control their art projects and everyone will have fun.

  9. I work with 4 year olds daily.  My group loves to paint anything.  The best thing is the mixing of paint. I usually let them pick three colors and go to it.  I think your best bet is multiple colors of paint, and large peices of paper.

Get creative with what they can paint with....toothbrushes from the doller store, put it in spray bottles watered down and tape the paper up on a fence, sponges in different shapes or textures, multiple types of paint brushes.

Put a little glitter in it, or corn syrup (makes it shiny), flour, salt.  Concentrate on different ways to mix the paint and get it on the paper.

Throwing the paint at hung paper (using paint brushes) with some glitter in it makes great fire works paintings.

It is in the process and not the product with this age.
