I bought this thing brand new about three years ago the brackets that hold the mower deck up and level keep breaking at the elbow . And now the thing jumps and jerks and will not go up the smallest incline in the yard. It feels like the transmission is is slipping. The bar in the back is in as far as I can get it not out for nutral. It is almost impossible to mow with it when it starts slipping I have to pull the shifter lever back to nuteral and slowly go back forword get about ten feet and do it again.

  1. I am trying to figure out if this is an auto transmission or manual.  If it is an auto try purging it.  Also a worn belt will cause it to jerk and not go.  If it is a manual tranny the belt will cause it or you have worn shifting/engaging dogs in the transmission.  Provide a bit more info and maybe we can sort this out.
