Craig Anderson helps Senators register another upset as they defeat Washington Capitals 2-0

Another one of the games on Friday was played at the Scotiabank Place as Ottawa Senators came up with a strong defensive play that saw them winning 2-0 against Washington Capitals.
The game saw Senators playing the spoilers’ role while Capitals were looking to continue on their winning streak and their surge to the top of the Eastern Conference.
The game started off with both teams coming up with shots every now and then. They had several chances and created some brilliant plays but they couldn’t find the back of the net. The period ended with the scores level.
The second period was pretty much even but it was Senators who scored to get into the lead. The final 20 minutes of play saw Senators scoring in the beginning to seal the game 2-0 in the end.
Craig Anderson, goal keeper of Senators was named the star of the game as he made 31 saves during the course of the game.
There were shots on goal right from the start of the game. The passing and shooting of both teams were decent but they lacked in the department of scoring. Though the strong plays got them into scoring positions but they failed to score a goal which was
the most important part of the game.
The shots kept on piling up right till the end of the period but no goals were scored and the period ended with scores level on 0-0. During the course of the period, Senators made 10 shots on goal while Capitals made 11 shots on goal.
The second period started off with Capitals making a few shots on goal with Senators joining in with a couple of shots every now and then. With the game that both teams had on display it looked as if a goal would most certainly be scored.
It took some time but Senators finally managed to score in the 14th minute through Colin Greening from a brilliant shot. The period saw a few more shots on goal by both teams with the passage of time but none of the shots found the back of the
net.
The period ended with Senators leading 1-0. During the course of the period both the teams made eight shots on goal.
The final 20 minutes of play saw Senators making a strong start and stunning the visiting team with a goal in the third minute. The goal was scored by Erik Condra from a well placed flick shot.
Capitals constructed some brilliant plays but they were unable to take advantage from the numerous goal attempts and the period ended with Senators winning the game 2-0. During the final period, Senators made five shots on goal while Capitals made 12 shots
on goal.
