Liverpool forward Craig Bellamy believes that the Reds need to maintain the form that they have shown in the League, if they are to break into the top four and secure a spot in the Champions League.
Bellamy was http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809’s star player in their game against Aston Villa this past weekend, as he helped the team score both their goals against their opponents. Bellamy went on to score the opening goal and just minutes later, he whipped in a corner which
Martin Skrtel headed into the back of the net.
Following the win, Bellamy has admitted that the intent shown by Liverpool is good, but the team needs to start pushing for more wins and they should look to secure all three points against Wigan Athletic on Wednesday night.
When talking about the game against Aston Villa, Bellamy is quoted to have said: "The two early goals helped us and put us in a good position.”
"It can always be a tricky scoreline, but I thought we were quite professional and kept the ball.”
"We had a couple of opportunities to score on the break in the second half as well, and I thought we were worthy winners."
Liverpool have been playing half decent this time around and are currently playing way better than they were last season.
Last season, many believed the team was going to finish in the bottom half, as they seemed to find it almost impossible to climb up into the top half of the table.
Nonetheless, with Kenny Dalglish in-charge of the team from the start of the season, the team is now sitting in the sixth spot in the league, level on points with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 who are sitting in the fifth spot.
Liverpool now need to go on and continue playing the way they have been for the most part and should the team be able to do so, they could easily finish in a European spot and potentially even finish in the top four, ensuring them Champions League action.
It is now a wait to see just where the team ends up and whether the team can continue their fine form for the rest of the season.
