http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Craig-Bellamy-c9471 feels supporters are the main barrier to England’s failure
Cardiff City striker and Wales international Craig Bellamy has insisted that the demanding fans have been a major barrier in the below par performance of the England international team.
The striker claimed that supporters expect a lot from their players which builds unnecessary pressure on them and as a result, they are unable to perform.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 striker believed that England had one of the better squads at the 2010 FIFA World Cup but just could not live up to the expectations of the fans. They were put under an immense pressure especially after talks of having the best centre-forward
and the best centre-half.
The 31-year-old further said that sometimes fans get too harsh and start booing which was not a good technique at all to cheer up the side.
He said, “I watched them in the World Cup last summer like everybody else, and I don't buy into the idea that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 ain't good enough, the other thing that people always say is that the England players don't want it enough, but that's rubbish, too.”
England lost to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 in the knockout stages of the World Cup and the Cardiff forward admitted that Germans were a far better side at the event than the Three Lions. He claimed that no one was expecting that much from them and as a result, their players
did not take pressure and performed better than was expected from them.
The Welsh international further said, “Germany were brilliant because they went with a group of players who were given freedom. Because so much was expected of them, England just looked tense, so tense.”
Bellamy gave his example while he was at Liverpool. The forward claimed that at that time it was http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andorra-c2837. Bellamy claimed that the Reds captain is one of the top footballers
and even he was afraid in giving away the possession.
The striker was talking ahead of the England-Andorra game which takes place on Saturday, 26 March, 2011 and has demanded respect from the fans.
The 31-year-old believes that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wales-c3041 have a great opportunity especially after the appointment of new manager Gary Speed.
