Craig Kieswetter eyeing double delight, aims to do well for Somerset and England – Cricket News Update
England’s blistering opening batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/C-Kieswetter-c1206, has set sights on playing match-winning knocks for his national and domestic sides.
The Englishmen are currently leading the One Day International (ODI) series 2-0 against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 and a victory in the fourth encounter, being played at Lord’s today, will secure the series for the home side.
On the other hand, the aggressive opener is likely to take part in the finale of the ongoing domestic Clydesdale Bank 40 tournament for his outfit, Somerset, at the same venue on September 17, 2011.
Although, Kieswetter’s participation in the final of the domestic One-Day event is yet to be confirmed, reports have suggested that he has been given a green chit by the coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Andrew-Flower-c44362.
Talking to media on the eve of the fourth battle against the World Champions, Kieswetter stated that his prime objective will to do well and play a pivotal role in the victories of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Somerset-c843.
“To be out there contributing to a winning team is what I want to be doing, regardless of whether it is for Somerset or for England,” said Kieswetter.
The wicket-keeper batsman has been enjoying great form this season, scoring 383 runs in nine matches of the ongoing 40-over tournament. He perpetuated his domestic form to International cricket and has been showing an excellent show so far in the competition
against the Men in Blue.
In the third fixture, held at the Oval on September 9, 2011, the 23-year-old batsman smashed a quick half-century and guided his side in a strong position to seal a three-wicket win against Mahendera Singh Dhoni and company.
Kieswetter is pleased with outstanding run this summer, saying that he worked really hard on his batting before the start of the season.
“Last winter, I got my hunger and my drive to score the runs back and the hard effort I have been putting in has been paying off,” added the South African-born cricket who has played in just 21 ODIs so far in his career but impressed everyone with his enormous
batting talent.
