Craig McDermott appointed as Australia’s bowling coach and Justin Langer to stay for another year
Cricket Australia made an announcement today, May 12th, about Craig McDermott’s appointment as their new bowling coach and Justin Langer’s one-year extension on his contract as Australia’s assistant coach.
Langer was appointed as assistant coach of Aussies Test team in November 2009, under the chief batting coach Tim Nielsen.
Langer and McDermott have served http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Brown-c48671, lauded Langer’s services, saying that his presence is really valuable for the Australian cricketers since he has become an integral part of the team.
"Justin's record as a player and then over the last 18 months, as coach, leader and mentor within the Australia team coaching group, speaks for itself and we are all delighted he has agreed to continue his outstanding work with the Australia team", said

The reappointed Langer also showed his excitement about becoming a part of Australian cricket once again. He added that he was desperate to continue his duty so that he could take the next steps to develop himself as a coach, working with a devoted and motivated
group of people.
Besides Langer, Jamie Siddons, whose contract as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747’s coach has recently expired last month, revealed his wish to take over as Australia’s assistant coach.
Langer and McDermott will have to face new challenges since the last Ashes’ defeat has pushed Australia down to the fifth spot in Test cricket.
Moreover, Langer is also supposed to provide proper batting guidelines to the newly appointed Australian captain, Michael http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clarke-c51120, who amassed 367 Test runs last year at a poor average of 21.58.

Langer, in his cricketing career has played 105 Tests and scored 7696 runs at an average of 45.27, including 23 centuries and 30 fifties.
Australia, have made all these changes in the wake of the Ashes’ setback and the recent World Cup defeat.
