Craig Steadman believes he still has a lot more up his sleeves this season
Previous snooker season featured many new faces on the surface of the game that performed tremendously in the whole season improving their rankings in the international snooker standings. These players gave their best to place themselves in the leading group
of potters and are now considered as strong opponents in the line-up.
Continuing the legacy, the new snooker season gave chance to the emerging talent to prove their class in the professional circuit. The 2012 World Snooker Qualifying School (Q School) was one of the efforts to provide a chance to the new potters to show their
class and place their name in the leading cuemen. Many of these potters earned a two-year place in the professional circuit and became winners of minor and major ranking tournaments.
England’s Craig Steadman is also one of those few names who are struggling to earn international fame as a snooker player. Steadman performed convincingly in the previous snooker season but was not able to add a noticeable victory of any minor or major ranking
event and crashed out mostly in the qualifying sessions of important events. However, he is still hopeful for a positive run in the new season and believes that he has a lot more up his sleeves and can perform well.
While speaking to World Snooker about his ambitions, Steadman said, “Those are all class players but they are all having more success now than they ever did. I believe I have a lot more to offer, otherwise I would have called it a day. Hopefully the best
is yet to come. I won a few matches but it wasn't really a fair crack.”
He added, “By the time I found my feet the season was over. It's 100 times better now. This time I have got two years and around 20 tournaments each season. So if you don't make it now, you can't point the finger at anyone but yourself.”
The Englishman started his new season campaign with great determination but still was not able to make it to the initial round of major ranking events. However, he performed well in the first UK Players Tour Championship (UKPTC) event and reached third round
where Judd Trump defeated him. The English potter is looking forward towards a strong campaign in the recent snooker season.
