LETS SAY YOU SELL SOMETHING AS A SET OF 2 THINGS, , BOWFLEX DUMBBELLS, BENCH INCLUDED, SO YOU HAVE THE DUMBELLS THE LITTLE CART WHERE THE DUMBBELLS ARE PUT IN WHEN NOT IN USE AND THE BENCH FOR 560$, SO THEN FOR SOME REASON THE PERSON SELLING IT TRUSTS THE BUYER TO COME BACK THE NEXT DAY FOR THE BENCH AND GAVE A DEPOSIT OF 300,, WHICH MEANS THE BUYER STILL HAS TO GO PICK UP THE BENCH AND GIVE THE REST TO THE SELLER, BUT WHAT IF THE BUYER NEVER COMES BACK? COULD THERE BE ANY PROBLEMS??

  1. If the buyer never comes back, they forfeit their deposit. The seller would wait a reasonable period (maybe four weeks or so) and if they didn't hear from the buyer or can't reach them then they're free to keep the deposit and sell the item to someone else.

It's unlikely something like this would ever go to court, but if it did, the seller would have to show that he conducted the transaction in good faith. So that's why you give a grace period between the deposit and assuming it's forfeited. If any reasonable person would assume, after a month and at least one phone call, that the buyer is no longer interested, then the seller can cancel the transaction and sell to someone else.
