Craigslist tutor scam, wife sent personal info what to do?

my wife never pays attention to these types of things and has been looking for a job for quite some time well she sent all the info they were asking about i just got home from work and she told me about this job i read it over and im a little pissed right now but she didnt know but its a complete scam and they now will probaly send us a check for what ever amount. is there anything i should do in regards towards the info she sent these crooks, or any agencys that should know about this, and yes the check will be ripped and thrown away

  1. Your posting is not understandable.  What exactly did she respond to, what personal information was sent, how do you know it's a scam and what check are you talking about?


  2. This all depends on what kind of personal info she sent them. If it is simply name and adress, I wouldnt worry too much about it.  When you get the check you could take it and a copy of any email correspondence she has had with these people to the police station and file a fraud report I suppose. Because the check was mailed, it will most likely be turned over to the postal police since they have jurisdiction. But the likelyhood that they can do anything about it is slim to none. They have tons of check fraud by mail scams every day to deal with.   The main thing here is what kind of information did she give them? If her social security number was involved then you have something to worry about.
