Crampiness on one side?

Okay, so I'm 5 weeks pregnant, tomorrow, with my 3rd pregnancy. My first pregnancy was my son nearly 4 years ago, my second preg. was a year and a half ago and resulted in miscarriage at 10.5 weeks. We started trying in Aug, last month and got pregnant right away. However, my question is; why am I having cramps only on one side? Is that normal? I don't remember cramps like this with my son or my second pregnancy, am I just being cautious because of the miscarriage last preg. or is there something wrong? Anybody in my situation, or close to it? If I went to the doctors, would they be able to do an ultrasound to make sure everything is okay?

BTW: My cramps aren't bad at all, just annoying and a little worrisome.

  1. Yeah I would go see your doctor and ask for a scan.  I remember period pain type cramps early on with mine.  I miscarried my daughters twin and its okay to worry.  But try not to stress too much call your doctor just to be sure and to set your mind at rest.

    Good luck and congrats.

  2. I had this exact same problem.  the apin started at about 4 1/2 weeks and got worse.  At 6 weeks i finally went to the OB and an ultrasound showed that I had a healthy little baby and a good sized ovarian cyst on my left ovary.  that is what was causing the pain.

I was told that while a tubal pregnancy causes pain, it is more than just crampy.  It is excruciating pain that gets worse.

Wishing you a happy and healthy 9 months!
