  1. You can avoid cramps when you run by stretching out before you run. Most cramps are formed beneath your stomach. Stay hydrated while you run to prevent these cramps.

DO NOT DRINK ALOT OF FLUID IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A CRAMP!

This will just make it worst, trust me, Ive been there.

Here are some little tricks you can do to help avoid cramps:

    1. Take longer strides, if you take longer strides, you will convert more energy to distance. Thus enabling you to have less cramps.

    2. Make sure you are fully rested before you run. If you are tired and running, your body will become even more tired, thus causing cramps.

    3. ALWAYS STRETCH before AND after you run. Most people only stretch before you run. You should stretch after you run to eliminate any further cramps about to form.

If you have a cramp, you should try to stretch wear the cramp is, but not TOO MUCH. Stretching it too much will cause it to hurt more, thus become a bigger cramp!

    Hope It Helps,

    and stay Cramp Free!

  2. normally you get cramps when you first start running so just make sure your breathing right(in through nose out through mouth) and just focus on your breathing. to make cramps go away sometimes it helps to like grab the side that the cramp is on. you look retarded but it works for me.

  3. Alright so if your talking about cramps in a muscle obviously like everybody has said stretch it out...but if your talking cramps in your sides or what not...personally if i speed up my pace a little it fixes everything...just sprint for a block or so and see if that works for you...thats what my whole cross country team does when we have them so you always know who has one lol

  4. Stretch to the opposite side of your cramp, I learned this yesterday and it truly works.

Let's say the cramp is on your left, you need to stretch to the right (your hips to the right)

    good luck

  5. Do some light stretch before run. If you get one while running, just stretch the cramping muscle then take it easy for a few minutes then you should be fine.

  6. well raise your arms above your head and to do stretches that will strech your sides like bending from side to side while your running keeping running dont stop and hold your side pinch it until it stops then when your done drink water but to much so that you get sick just enough so that you will cool off they will get better as your endurance builds

  7. A cramp is caused by the muscle not getting enough oxygen, so breathe really deeply. Also, if you stretch a lot before you run, you're less likely to get cramps.

Sometimes cramps in your side and stomach can be caused by drinking too much water right before you run, so be careful of that.

  8. I Avoid getting Cramps by not drinking to much water RIGHT before i run but a few hours before the run. Having strong Abs cuts back on abs so do some situps and pushups
