  1. doable it is, the question is if it is worth doing. if yuo decide to go for it, get used parts on ebay.com. it will save you at least 60%

  2. You might be able to do it.  The big question is if there will be enough clearance between the chainstay and chainrings.

Beyond this issue, though, are lots and lots of costs.  You'll almost certainly need a new bottom bracket to accommodate the crankset.  Then you'll need:

    - a front derailleur

    - a shifter for the front derailleur

    - cables and housings (Plus, this bike probably doesn't have braze on fittings for a front derailleur cable)

    - new bar tape for the handlebars (You'll have to rewrap the handlebar when you install the new brake/shifter)

Prior to upgrading the cassette, you'll need to be sure the frame is designed to accommodate a wider cassette.  If it will take a wider cassette, you'll need:

    - a new rear derailleur

    - a new shifter for the rear derailleur

    - appropriate chain.

Quite frankly, you'll be a lot better off financially buying a bike that is designed with the equipment you want.  Buying all of these pieces and parts at retail will be very expensive.  Bike manufacturers buy in volume and get huge discounts.  Thus, you can always buy a fully outfitted bike for less than the cost of modifying one.

    Hope this helps.

  3. Yea, i have a one peice as they would call it, but it's not made anymore it's top of the line, it's called: Drive Line Brand:JS

it's a racing crack, im not going to replace it till it breaks, it's stainless steel, in the shape it's in, it's not going to break, i would try for a racing, i can only get around 45 Mph messured.

I don't like anything for bmx over 3 peice, but you said road bike. don't be like me and get a really nice high end. lol

  4. Yes you can.

your local bike shop can do it but its going to be quite pricey

(im saying starting at 200 with  cheap stuff) because you would need two complete sets of shifters and  Derailleurs along with a new cassette and chainrings and cranks! yea thats quite a parts list

you would be way better off picking a bike that is already set up the way you would like. and if you really like the frame i would just recommend building a frame up with your choice of parts.
