c**p sound from swisstec 19" LCD TV

Question

Swisstec J19/1 LCD TV Speakers are small 2.5 x 5.7 cms 5w 4ohms. There is no headphone or extension spkr outlet. The sound is very poor (tinny no or little base) and cannot be enhanced by adjustment. I fear these have been damaged. Can I connect external speakers e.g. computer speakers since the sound will already have been amplified? I guess if I connect bigger speakers direct to the connections the sound will be very weak. Any ideas? The sockets for these speakers are V small as it is a flat screen and I cannot see the point of buying replacements if I could get them. Are there any reasonable speakers that might fit? Any ideas?
