Question:

Crappy to average undergraduate grades: Is grad school still an option for me?

I really want to go back to college and get a graduate degree (something in business). After that, I would like to go to law school. My grades weren’t the best in college: 2.75 GPA. My GPA in my major (Political Science) was a 3.0 and my GPA in my upper division level courses was a 3.0 (still nothing to brag about).

Most graduate programs and law schools require much better grades than what I got. So I’ve been thinking a lot about taking more undergraduate courses and double majoring, to bring my GPA up.

Any other suggestions?

  1. You could always apply, and see what happens.

If not, then try your method out.

  2. It is highly unlikely that you could get into a top business school.  However, you will have no problem getting into some business school.

In my opinion, an MBA from a school that is not ranked won't do much more for you than a BS in Business.  On the other hand, a BS in Business will get you a better job than a BA in Political Science.  you might consider law school as well
