Question:

Craps - Which is a better bet, $5 horn high yo or $5 whirl bet?

I've been betting the horn high yo for years and only recently switched over to the whirl. Can't figure out which one makes you more money. Please help.

PS - this is really important since I'm going to the casino tomorrow and I really need to win since I'm running low on money.

  1. Those are called sucker bets for a reason. Sometimes it's worth playing them if a shooter is rolling the numbers that way. Hard ways (4, 6, 8, 10; doubled up dice) bets are more common but, are also considered sucker bets. World bets not "whirl" are technically not much better than the horn high yo. C & E bets are also better payouts. 3:1 for craps rolls 2,3 and 12 and 15:1 on Yo rolls. You'll lose on any other number. You can bet high or as little as $1 too. Stick to Come bets, pass line with odds, place bets, don't pass or don't come bets and field bets. Get to know the different kinds of shooters too. You'll know who means business and who'll 7-out quick. That's the best bet. Check out the website below for more.

ALSO, if you're going to a casino with the thought that you have to win, don't go. In my experience, you'll lose. Remember: the house always wins. How do you think they keep those places running and expanding? Not by letting you win. If you have to win, save your money instead and go only when you're ready for some fun instead.

  2. if your running low on cash then maybe you should consider NOT going.

  3. They're both ridiculously bad bets. If you want to play smart you should not even touch any of the bets in the center of the table.
