1) How does the casino differentiate your chips from an opponent's in craps? I know that a player has to stand in one place, but aren't the chips all the same color?

2) Which casino in Las Vegas has the highest maximum bets for all the table games?

3) Are baseball games more difficult to predict than football? What tips can you give about betting on baseball?

  1. 1st- There is a dealer on each side of the table plus the boxman keeping an eye on each players bets(they are all the same color) but just like in BJ you will be betting in a certain area and the dealers will place your chip so THEY know where they are.

2nd- Right now oddly enough the small casinos like Binions will take the higher max bets and behind them Wynn and Caesars.

3rd- Football is the hardest sport to bet on besides maybe Basketball. Baseball is relatively easier because pitching and hitting are more consistent. Then it becomes a case of how to lay your bets on the appropriate run or money lines. Tips- home teams have slight advantage, careful with run lines because there are so many one run games. Finally dont bet on your favorite team.

  2. For the pass line, field, or come bets, you basically place your chips right in front of you, and if it pays (7 or 11 for the come only), the dealer puts the money directly next to the bet. For come bets (after they go to the number) or the 'sucker' bets in the center of the table, the table spread will have little notches to indicate which position the player who made the bet is standing at. Also, for the 'sucker' bets, the box man and dealer are keeping track of who makes the bets at the same time, so if one makes a mistake or forgets the other will let him know.

I cannot tell you for sure who has the highest tables limits because those are in the high rollers salons which I never play in. There are quite a few casinos with $10,000 max bets (Bellagio, Wynn, and Paris come to mind). I don't know why you care though, unless you're a millionaire or planning to use some ridiculous double up system.

  3. the dealer only has to keep track of 7 players at once and it has to do with the placement of the chips on the layout which connects to the placement of the people around the table

2....wynn and belagio... currently have the highest on average

3....bet on the picher...if he is a big game picher against a wanabe....well there you go

  4. 1.  The chips are differentiated by the placement on the layout.  Depending on where you are standing, the dealers have a corresponding spot as to where they will place your chips.  For example, let's say you put you bet on the layout not directly in front of you.  The "stickman" will move it directly in front of you as to avoid confusing your bet with someone else's.

    2.  My guess would be the bigger "Strip" casinos would have the highest bets for table games- i.e. Wynn, Bellagio, Caesar's Palace, etc.  Back in the day, Binion's Horseshoe was willing to book action at any limit- hundreds of thousands of dollars on the line.  When a "whale" ( a term that means player who plays for huge sums of money) plays for that kind of money, and wins, it can alter not only that day's take, but how much money a casino makes that month.

    3.  I'm no sports bettor, but I read an article written by a professional sports bettor.  He mentioned that he'd make bank during the baseball season, but lose it all betting on football.  So I guess betting baseball is "easier"- but I wouldn't say any type of betting is easy.

  5. I craps, your chips are the same color as other players chips.  We identify your bets by your position around the table.  We regularly allow up to 8 customers on each side, but in extreme cases I have had as many as 10.  Your bets are positioned to correspond to your position around the table.  Feel free to ask the dealer where your bets are and he will indicate your position.

High-limit:  Wynn, Belagio, and Venetian offer games with $10,000 limits. MGM Grand often has a $15,000 limit baccarat game.  If you make a large deposit in the cashier's cage you can have a limit that is much higher than that offered to other customers.  I have seen customers betting as high as $250,000 a hand.

Binion's casino no longer welcomes high-rollers.
