Craps betting: can you explain certain types of payouts on "come' bets/?

Certain "come" bets and their odds are moved down out of the number box that it was in when that number hits (wins) while other come bets and their odds remain on the number during a win. Why is this and under what circumstances does the come bet and its odds bet remain on the number during a win (payout) and not brought down.

  1. Guy is right. I don't know why these other people think it's so complicated, it's very simple.

If you have come bets up and they hit, you get paid the same amount no matter what. The difference in what you seem to be getting paid is dependent on whether or not you've got another bet in the come box. If you do, the dealer will just pay you the winnings, keep your come bet and odds that are on the number up, and keep your come bet in the box right where it is. If you do not have a new come bet in the box, he pays you your winnings and returns (takes down) the come bet and odds bet you had on the number.

    Here's an example:

Say you already had a come bet of $10 on the 6 with $20 in odds. If you have another $10 in the come box and a 6 is rolled, the dealer will slide $34 to you ($10 from the come bet, $24 from the odds) and everything else on the table will stay where it is. If you do NOT have a come bet in the box, he will slide you the $34 you just won PLUS the $30 you had on the 6 for a total of $64, and you will no longer have a bet up on the 6.

  2. Being a former(KEY WORD) craps player, trying to explain this gives me headaches and nightmares !!!! Take some advice and stay away from the craps table ! It has the best casino advantage againgst the player out of all the other games ...

    Good Luck ..

  3. honestly, it's a long process, email me and i'll explain it to you,, However I wouldn't mess with that bet, what I do is bet a dont come on the 4,, and then I make a dollar hard 4. I get 1to 2 meaning I bet 40 and get 20,, you may think this sucks but I have consistently won,, I usually stop when I make 200 bucks,, the chances of the shooter hitting a 7 before a 4 are really good, also you can make a dont come bet anytime, usually I let the shooter roll 3 or 4 times and then I make my bet,, this even raises my chances of winning. The guy below me says that craps has the worst odds for the player, actually it has the best odds in the house with the house advantage only 1 percent

  5. Generally the only reason it looks like come bet is staying in the number even after the number hit is because the player had a new bet placed in the come box.  So the number hits, he takes his winnings from the come/odds and then the chip in the come goes back on that same number.  Casino dealers refer to this as "Off and On" since your bet is off because you won but it is back on since you had a new come bet.  Most dealers will also use the winnings from the original come bet to use towards the odds on the new come bet so the chips never even move.
