Crash pads for snowboarding/skiing?

Question

I snowboard and fall a lot. I am thinking of getting some crash pads but there are so many companies and varieties. Pro-tec seems to be one good company. Anyone have any favorites?

Also, it seems that they mostly come as a pair of form-fitting shorts, mainly covering your hips and butt. I am fine with that but I already wear some long johns. Will these fit over them or are meant to wear alone?

when i started i fell alot! (trust me)

but you get over that.. and i dunno those arn't realllllly needed just learn how to fal without hurting yourself toooooo bad

Protec makes some decent hip/butt pads, they will fit over your long underwear too. They provide good protection, but dont expect there to be no pain at all on hard falls. The new Demon snow pros seem to be pretty good too.
