When i first trained my wheaten terrier in the crate it wa simple- he would go in i'd give him a treat he'd be fine! My new puppy is a different story. She squeals really loud when she sees me and when i put her in the he crate she eventually cries VERY loud.... then when i take her back out she chases my feet jumps and cries more. So far the actions I have taken are when i let he rout of the crate I completely ignore her and walk outside so she;ll use the bathroom. I don't give her any attention because she;'ll pee inside. Someone please give me some advice on trianing my new puppy!

  1. She could have separation anxiety.

  2. This is perfectly normal.  There are a ton of questions that I have that would never fit into this one box!  lol

Check out the forums at http://germanshepherdworld.net/  There's a lot of advice on puppy training and crate training as well.  There's several dogs there that suffer seperation anxiety too.

  3. Hmm... Its definitely a good idea to get her outside as soon as you open the crate.  I have my german shepherd/lab mix pup in crate training right now and he goes balistic when he sees me and after I put him in there if he knows I'm still in the house.  I just tell him to calm down or NO and he will usually stop making noise and calm down.  Make sure to just be putting him in there for short periods of time throughout the day eventually building up to longer and times when you're not there.  She will cry but it just takes time especially caus etheir such loving people friendly dogs.  They just want to be around there master.
