Question:

Crawfish with Goldfish In A Tank?

So my family likes fishing, and my dad bought some crawfish. I was wondering if I could put them with my goldfish. Maybe just 1 or two. Would it be okay, or will the crawfish eat my goldfish? The goldfish are still babies (I think) and one of them is a pretty small feeder fish, and the other is fancy.

  1. The crawfish will eat the goldfish.  I can guarantee this.  My sister once had a crawfish as a pet in a 10 gallon tank.  My father would feed it by buying a bunch of feeder fish and letting them live in the tank until the crawfish got them.  If the crawfish is a lot smaller than the fish you have, it probably won't be able to eat them right away, but as it grows it will definitely try.

  2. paint little numbers on the fish and take bets on who goes first/second/third :)

  3. if its a salt water cra(w)(Y)fish it will die

if its freshwater it probably wont

it is likely to eat the fish

also feeder should not be kept with fancys

i did some research and Americans call freshwater crustatiions crawfish and saltwater ones lobster

in New Zealand we call them both crayfish

so i am assuming you are from America

  4. i souldnt recomend it. The only shrimp, lobsters whatever u could put in are little glass shrimp,or ghost shrimp. theyll get along with goldfish and dont think the goldfish will hurt them any.
