Create an ellegant dinner menu?

I have been assigned the task to create an ellegant looking menu for the dinner being served to the teachers at my school, on Teachers Appreciation Day. What are some tips to make it look the best that it possibly can. Any tips would be appreciated! Thanks!

First, teachers would want "elegant" spelled correctly.

Adding a garnish to any meal makes it more appealing.  It shows that you took just a little bit of extra time to make their meal look delicious.  Add fresh parsley to the top of your Italian meals, add fresh cilantro to the top of your Mexican dishes.  Get creative and make it beautiful!

One other tip is to make it colorful.  It doesn't have to be super-complicated or super-expensive.  One of my favorite things is a mango & kiwi fruit salad topped with 2 tbsp. of simple syrup with lime juice & zest.  It's easy, elegant, and beautiful!

Use color smartly. Like if you serve broccoli, don't overcook until it is very light green.  It is more appetizing when the food is bright and cheery.
