Hi,

I'm creating an LLC business, but the form asks that I fill out my address and phone number. Can these be changed later? How?

Thanks.

  1. Yes you can change the address later.

Since business registrations are based on state laws and not consistent when you are ready to make a change contact the office of the Secretary of State for your state and find out what you will have to do.

(Typically just file a change of address.)

  2. As already mentioned, it varies from state to state. Usually after filing your Articles of Organization, any changes require an additional form to be mailed in. Call your Secretary of State office to be sure.

A bit of additional advice on LLC, a lot of people file one to protect their personal assets from their company's in case of lawsuit/bankruptcy because of "limited liability". At your early stage, i would recommend sole-proprietor or partnership because there is less money involved for registration, you don't have to open a separate business banking account, and less basic requirements. Liability can be covered by simply purchasing business insurance from an insurance agent from a place like State Farm. (lastly if you get business insurance sign up for a credit card that gives you discounts on coverage cause this will reduce overhead)

Hope this helped, feel free to add me as a contact.

    Best Regards,

    Bernard
