Creating a social web site like myspace?

I want to create a social web site like myspace but I don't know how. I want it to have the same idea like myspace where you can have ur own profile and what not and keep the same idea. I want to make it easy to design and start oh and free. thanks

Wow.  And when you do, can I join, cause it sure sounds like it would be a ton better than actual MySpace!  You'll make a million dollars.

I highly suggest staying away from the concept. It's complicated, will cost you $2000 - $20,000 dollars if you pay someone to design it, and it's already been done so many times.

There are a bunch of sites who have already done that (ie. Facebook- http://facebook.com  and Yuniti- http://yuniti.com ). It isn't as easy as it looks, you need programming knowledge, or you buy one of those lame 'out of the box sites'. I know it sounds like a cool idea, but everyone is doing it and there are too many nowadays, and it is really hard to do. Anyway I wish you luck in whatever you do :)

All that and u want it free too, huh? well to have something even close to myspace designed for you will cost around $3000+ and I'm guessing you have nowhere close to the technical knowledge to design it yourself. With your budget for promoting the site, I'm sure that Myspace is trembling

You should probably buy a domain and then get familiar with programs like dreamweaver.

It isn't that easy.

You need programming knowledge or scripting like PHP.

I suggest you to learn about ASP.net or PHP.

There might be some CMS (Content Management System) out there that can do this, do a google search for it.
