  1. stonerocket.net and x10hosting offer free packages almost as good as a paid host (only less space and bandwidth). With no host? Sorry, but you can't.

  2. Begin with setting up your own webpage as your current internet provider will provide free hosting as discussed below.

If you are currently a paid Internet subscriber, you are entitled to a "homepage" which often contains simple navigation and editing tools. And if you use the Netscape browser, the built-in Composer feature is a superior HTML authoring tool which is totally free. You can easily generate a full-blown website as a Homepage by FTPing webpages using NotePad, Word, Dreamweaver,  and FrontPage.

Nevertheless, the "homepage" URL is likely to be "http://homepage.earthlink.com/subscribe... name" and that URL can easily be overwritten via a redirection service, i.e., "mydomain.com" which allows you to link any registered domain name to "mask" another website. For example, should you type in the "domain name," you will be immediately transported to the homepage and the hompage URL of http://homepage.earthlink.com/subscriber... a homepage URL which will be masked by the domain name. And the charge for the redirection service [even at godaddy.com] is normally FREE.

When you acquire a domain name, connect it using a redirection service [as discussed above] and submit/publish the domain name on major search engines/directories in order for Net surfers to find your website.

    Good luck!

  3. You can't. The only possible way to do what you're describing is to have the website on your computer for others to visit. Otherwise, you're paying to use a company's server, that others can access.

  4. The options you listed that you don't want to use are your only options, unless you pay for hosting.

You need to either pay to register a domain and pay for hosting, or you're stuck with sites like Geocities or free trials.

You can check out Dreamhost, they're pretty cheap, and you get a free domain registration every year, so as long as you pay your monthly hosting bill, you never have to pay for the domain name. If you use the coupon DISCOUNT25 when you sign up, you get $25 off, which is like, 5 months of free hosting, plus a free domain name, and you get access to everything that you get with a normal hosting plan.

Remember, nothing on the internet is free: either you pay for it, or someone else pays for it - which is where advertising comes from. So if you don't want to see advertisements, and you want the ability to do more with your site, you're going to have to pay for it. But, you can sign up for ad publishing with companies like Google AdSense to help offset the cost of hosting.

  5. To create a website you need domain and webhosting.bluehost is the best one

    http://www.bluehost.com/track/bluehostwe...

  6. Its not possible unless you find someone that will host you, but then you would only get a subdomain (example:YOURNAME.THEIRNAME.com) I use 1&1 hosting its cheap, and there are no adds. You could try freewebs.com you can get a freewebs.com/site name or site.webs.com and YES there is a way to hid the stubborn blue banner at the bottom, without having to show another tiny freewebs banner.

  7. Its impossible pick me for best answer

  8. Geocities is terrible, I agree.

Take a minute to look here: http://www.000WEBH0ST.com  They are very good, and free..  Not a trial.

  9. Well, as others have said.  It's difficult to get a "free" website that doesn't have ads because otherwise why would they give it to you for free.

You can get a site at freewebs.com or a free blog site at wordpress.com or blogspot.com.  But you can't get a free site with all the features of a paid site.  If that's what you want, pony up some dough.  There are a lot of inexpensive web hosts out there.

  10. Recommend you try creating a website with Microsoft Office Live Small Business - http://tinyurl.com/officelive . It is a free service from Microsoft targeted specifically at small businesses. It has a online design tool that allows you to create web pages without coding. It has no ads and has 500mb of web space. MS is giving a free domain name for the 1st year. It also includes free email accounts and contact manager. Microsoft makes money on add-ons such as Store Manager and Email Marketing (both optional).

  11. If you don't want to pay for hosting, by definition you want a "free" website.  I'd suggest weebly.com.  Free and no ads.

  12. That is impossible, sorry. You would have to use a "free" Web site.

  13. You must be joking. No web host, no website.

  14. In the simplest terms, in order to do that, you have to know someone who has hosting space that will give you a subdomain and hosting for free on their domain.  Other than that, I've never heard of free without ads.

  15. You have very few options, because you have to host your site in order to make it come up in searches via Google, or Yahoo.  The free sites like geocities are good that way, because they host it for you (with a load of ads to make it irritating).

That said, you CAN do and find it free if you're willing to do a little learning.  You can build it yourself in HTML using Microsoft Notebook...you have to write the code.  Save out the .TXT file once you're done and rename it to .HTML and it will open in IE with the code translated to web.  You can get a feel for it from www.webmonkey.com, but if you're serious about it you should buy a book.  HTML is not the lastest, and is older technology, but I think it will work for you.

Then, you have to do a search for sites offering free hosting of your HTML page.

    Good luck.
