Hi,

If I buy a male 5-pin DIN connector and a 1/4" headphone jack cable, how easy would it be to make it such that it was a 5-pin DIN to a 1/4" adapter? Can it be done?

Thanks!

  1. I don't think that will work. Check radio shack and see if they have one.

  2. Yes, it is quite easy if you know what the pin-out is.

The 1/4 plug has a tip, ring, and shield. The tip and ring are two signals and the shield is the common. If you are wiring something that doesn't use a common, but separate returns for the two signals, you could damage the source.

It would be more helpful to know what you are working with to help you with your adapter

  3. I have never heard of a guitar with only a 5 pin DIN connector.  Are you sure that is the only connector?  It probably is a MIDI connector and that connector cannot be connected to an amp.  It is not an audio output.

What type of guitar is this?
