  1. Not sure what you are asking here so if my answer is no help then sorry!

-An open planned room will promote safe as staff can see what is happening around the room at all times-rather than cuprboards in way etc.

-Making sure the staff ratio in each room is correct and legal will avoid accoidents and will mean proceedures are working!

-Furniture should be correct level/height for children to avoid injury and discomfort.

-Hand washing facilities must be available and children wash hands under RUNNING water before snack is eaten.

-Tissues where children can reach them so they can blow noses-preferably near bin so they can be thrown away

-Cleaning rota so all staff know what needs to be washed, cleaned and with what!

-Visual ruleboard so children are constantly reminded not to run indoors and to use quiet voices so distress can be heard.

-Fire exits regularly practised and fire routes checked for speed and ease of access.

    -Never block fire doors-EVER!

-All plug sockets and electronics (as neccessary) should be made safe and away from access to chidlren.

-Medication kept in cupboard away from child's reach but ease of access for staff.

-Up to date and well stocked first aid box.

-All staff should be trained and maintain training in first aid, safe guarding and health and hygiene.

-Accident and incident forms kept available to adults.

-List of allergies and medical info displayed for staff to see-including students!

-Staff should sign a document saying that they have read hte policies and proceedures and understand them-this way managers know if staff are aware and who needs support/training.

-All staff should work together to write a policy-this way everyone knows what they are doing. everyone can be happy implementing it and everyones values and beliefs discussed.
