Creationists, do you agree with this quote

“Religion is corrosive to science. It teaches people to be satisfied with trivial supernatural non-explanations and blinds them to the wonderful real explanations that we have within our grasp. It teaches them to accept authority revelation and faith instead of always insisting on evidence.” - Richard Dawkins

  1. Not a true 'creationist' but I don't agree with anything Dawkins says, he is tainted by his hatred and sarcasm.

  2. I would agree with it if Dawkins replaced the words "science" and "evidence" with what he really means...

  3. I'm not a creationist I'm atheist but I am a big fan of Richard Dawkins, He had many quotable quote which I do not have at my disposal on this computer. I agree with most of what he says.

  4. i do think it is very good to ask questions and not accept everything we are told to accept by authorities.  we are our own authorities.

i don't agree with the insisting on evidence.  a lot is based on faith, which requires no concrete evidence that one can see.  being spiritual is different than being religious, i think. i have not been to a church in years, but yet i am very very spiritual, in my ways of thinking.  i have had proof of things that most churches would only say was the devil.

i have seen and felt and communicated with the spirits of loved ones that died a physical death.  i have seen angels and know they exist, but if was my openess and faith that allowed me to see such.  there is great beauty in the higher dimensional planes of existence..what some would call levels of heaven.   i have experience enough that i could never not believe there is nothing beyond this life, because there is.

if evidence is what dawkins wants, if he is open he will get evidence of the existence of God, the afterlife, etc.  if he is speaking of evidence of fossils, or something like that..that does not discount the existence of God.  i believe in creation, but i also believe that we have evolved and

still continue to evolve.  every time we grow or see something from a higher, better and brighter viewpoint we have evolved.

  5. I think Dawkins is nuts

  6. Obviously not, since the majority of Christians have no problem with the findings of science.

  7. I love Dawkins ;)

  8. It can be but not nessecarily if you don't make it

  9. I've watched Richard Dawkins.

I found him to be a man embittered against God.

I got the distinct impression that he had prayed to God for something... maybe someone to be healed... and because his prayers weren't answered, he's on a personal vendetta.

Not once... NOT ONCE did Richard Dawkins prove the non-existence of God.  He lambastes religion (and some of them well deserve to be ridiculed), but he was incapable of proving that a Higher Power doesn't exist.

Knowing the mathematics of how the Universe was created, understanding the machinations of accretion discs, proving the Laws of Physics does NOT prove that God doesn't exist.

The Mona Lisa did not miraculously appear one day.  It was created with intent and purpose.

Science is KNOWING how something happens.  It can tell us how long ago it happened; the dimensions of the object; what the original composition was -- but it cannot explain what the thought processes were behind the creation.

Richard Dawkins is just a bitter old man (IMO) who needs therapy to deal with his grudge against a world that didn't give him what he wanted.

  10. Science continues to provide no evidence to deny creation. Most scientist dismiss creation without any research.

Comparing the 2 side by side is the only way to show evidence and they are afraid to do that.

truth is a real study of the 2 shows more facts in favor of creation than evolution.

Besides isn't Richard Dawkins the host of family fuid?

  11. Dawkins don't know zip about Christianity !

If he did he would have written:

“Atheism is corrosive to science. It teaches people to be satisfied with trivial supernatural non-explanations and blinds them to the wonderful real explanations that we have within our grasp. It teaches them to accept authority revelation and faith instead of always insisting on evidence.”
