Creative Cause posted his second work at Hollywood Park for the Kentucky Derby
Heinz Steinmann owned 3-year-old colt, Creative Cause, has performed real well, right from his juvenile season until now, and with his series of string performances, it wouldn’t be hard to believe that Mike Harrington trained colt will run some serious contenders
ragged with a real ominous closer he has become in his time racing.
Creative Cause has raced among real good horses, and against Hansen and Union Rags he was the third best, he showed Bodemeister who’s the boss when he downed him for good in their one all meeting, and he was right up there with I’ll Have Another in an important
race on the Derby trail.
However, Churchill Downs on 5 May, 2012 will be an all together different ball game, and all those prep races will come down to nothing, but whatever prior to the race is achieved will boost the confidence of many, and will become a source of motivation
for someone like Creative Cause to believe, going for the 138th running of the Grade 1, $2 million Kentucky Derby.
For that the Kentucky bred son of Giant’s Causeway, was taken out from some serious work ahead of the Derby at Betfair Hollywood Park to run over a distance of five furlongs with the time of 1 minute and 1 /5 seconds.
Since his narrow defeat in the Grade 1, $750,000 Santa Anita Derby at Santa Anita Park to winner I’ll Have Another, Creative Cause posted his second work, but the Grade 2 San Felipe Stakes winner will have one final move before the Derby at that will most
likely come at Churchill Downs on 1 May, 2012.
If everything goes well, Creative Cause is expected to be shipped to Churchill Downs on 28 April, 2012.
Out of mare Dream of Summer by Siberian Summer, Creative Cause worked on Tuesday without blinkers, and his work was recorded as the fifth best at the distance as clockers recorded his work.
With Creative Cause going 23 4/5 seconds in the opening quarter mile and half mile in 48 1/5 seconds, he galloped out rest of the six furlongs in 1 minute and 14 seconds flat.
