  1. Okay, so you're either talking about the Tsume (the tips on the side guard) or the tsukagashira (the butt of the handle), unless your sai are blunt.

Even decorative ones are weapons and should not be treated as mere toys. My understanding is that these are essentially two-yoko jutte, so functionally they are still a weapon and are not meant to be played with.

I'm going to say that you're more likely to hurt yourself than not. First, the typical sai sold in martial arts stores are 440 stainless or electroplated. They're not real well built and are pretty likely to break or bend. Further, if you are holding them in forward or reverse grip with intent to use the tsukagashira as the balance point, you'll be putting your full body weight on the wrist in a position that's not really optimal for sustained pressure.

If you feel so compelled to go spinning end over end with pointy truncheons in hand, do an aerial cartwheel.

  2. A cartwheel with pointed blades?  Please rethink this.

  3. Dangerous because the blunt handle tips can slip on the floor. Also if you are going to do it at a tournament, promoters won't like you damaging their mats or a gym floor.

What you should practice is doing a cartwheel good enough that you don't have to put your hands down for support. This way you can do an aerial cartwheel and not put pressure on the weapon.

  4. I do know what sai is and I don't think you do !

So, since tradition is c**p to you, well "tradition" think the same of you. blah blah blah

Go water the yard you arrogant twit and git me my orange squeeze !

  5. well i wouldnt risk it it might be possible my naughter tryed it and broke hers o its up 2 you
