Question:

Creative Speakers suddenly failed?

I have the Creative Inspire 5.1 5300 setup with an extigy. I put the sound on today wth the wired volume control from the main speaker, when the light came on and then faded out. It has not come on since. The extigy seems to be working correctly as I have tried it through the headphones socket. I get no sound from the speakers now and when I turn the subwoofer control up (on the back of the speaker) there is a loud rumbling. All drivers up to date etc. Any advice.

  1. I had this with my Logitech speakers and it's an internal power problem.  The bad news at my end was that they were fried.

Power off your speakers, unplug the from the wall socket, make sure all the wiring is ok and then try to power them on again.

If that fails take them to where you bought them from.

  2. I believe after you bought, you registered the warranty. So I suggest you contact Creative representative to settle this rather than you try to solve this by yourself, just in case you will void the warranty

  3. similar thing happened to my little brother's logitech z-5500thx setup.

How i fixed his was, i opened up the sub, just near where the power cable comes in theres a fuse located right there, took that out to tandy's electronics/Dicksmiths bought another fuse rated the same volts, amps (quick blow fuse) costed $5 for 6 of them, replaced it and it nows works perfectly fine.
