Has anyone created their OWN fusion dish? What two cultures did you fuse and what was your dish?

Just curious, thank you!

  1. i stir fried noodles with a mix of salted boiled lentils and chunks of long beans, mustard seeds and onions..it was indian and chinese fushion...i served it with raita(a blend of lowfat yoghurt, shredded red onions, shredded carrots, shredded cucumbers and little chopped green chillies)

  2. I once made a "Thai" inspired couscous if that counts.  It turned out very well too!

I used thinned out coconut milk and lime juice instead of water to "steam" the couscous.  Then added some shredded carrots, julienned snow peas and red bell pepper.  Also threw in a few Thai bird chillies, peanuts and cilantro.

Served it with Thai chicken satays & a green mango salad for a lunch last summer.

  3. I like to mix it up a little. One of my favs is Asian-Cajun (or CAsian as I like to call it).

Andouille Chop Suey, Dirty Fried Rice, Crayfish Rangoon, Egg rolls stuffed with  spicy Cajun pork. So on and so on.

As far as recopies go, couldn't tell you, I kind of make it up as I go... much like most fusion dishes.

  4. steak topped with fried onions and tobiko. with a side of wasabi mashed potatoes.
