i just moved into a new condo that was being rented as a Furnished seasonal rental. The house was in a time warp circa 1978 so all the furniture is a weird color and the pieces were all masive. While we talked him into moving his stuff out, 1 piece HAD to stay and its a huge china hutch with frilly details and "teak" color

I cannot modify it in way such as painting so i have noooo idea how to make it work with the rest of the house.

Any ideas

  1. Can you get one of those 3-sided screens that are often used as room dividers and place it around the china cabinet?  If so, you could attach artwork or decorative items to the screen so that it matches what you have already.

  2. those china pieces are very expensive and their is not much to change in them, one of my friend a dark cherry stain on hers ,and it worked just fine for her, some people paint them over which you could do but then you might spoil it,what you could do is if its a two piece use the bottom half as a side table, and the top  hang it on  the wall somewhere to show off your things,or use it as  a stacking for your dishes in your dining room, and if you have your own one put your best china in this... you could make this look good you know...
