Creative ways to recruit new employees?

Anyone have any ideas OTHER then newspaper, radio, and internet?..need to bring in new employees but want a fun and creative way to do it.

The best employees are going to go through mostly traditional methods, I think you are looking for some kind of gimmick to attract them but I would post your name out there and screen what comes back. Career web sites, and positive PR related to the company will attract the most applicants.

If, however, you find that a majority of your successful employees are coming from a certain line of work or educational background, you might see if there are any opportunities to market or advertise directly to them.

For example, if you own a restaurant, rather than running a traditional ad in the newspaper or on Craigslst, you might see if the local culinary school(s) have a job board on their website. Or perhaps the local engineering school has a newsletter or website you can utilize.

Other ways to recruit include:

- posting regular Help Wanted ads on your website

- maintaining a presence at Job Fairs and local school Career Day events

- utilizing non-traditional media that is targeted to the demographic you are looking to hire. (For example, if you want to attract young adult men, you might consider Watercloset advertising - i.e. posting ads in men's rooms.)

If I knew your line of business, I could probably offer other effective solutions. These that I've listed are somewhat generic, but hopefully they get you thinking.
