"Every individual is their own artist that may have gifted talents that are hidden."

I've heard of some people who can be auditory and visual learners and can learn from pictures/diagrams, & also speech itself. While others may read one thing and can do the hands-on work without anyone telling them what to do.

(It's amazing that our minds can work at this flexibility)

I have a friend who can stay true to his convictions without the need of much instruction and he's doing fine. But, I remember he said to me that as a kid he use to be interested in art, but he lost interest in it and he eventually excelled in mathematics.

I can tell you he hasn't lost the spirit of an artist, because he's always learning new creative ways to tutor others in the field of mathematics. It almost even becomes an art form for him and he doesn't get boggled by the complicated terms used in mathematics, it's just amazing how he can take a complicated subject and condense it to a simplified manner.

  1. I agree everyone is an artist in there own way...yes you must have creativity to be an artist. Hmmm...this is a very interesting thought you had. Let me look up the TRUE definition of creativity and artisit...

    Artist:

    1. a person who produces works in any of the arts that are primarily subject to aesthetic criteria.

    2. a person who practices one of the fine arts, esp. a painter or sculptor.

    3. a person whose trade or profession requires a knowledge of design, drawing, painting, etc.: a commercial artist.

    4. a person who works in one of the performing arts, as an actor, musician, or singer; a public performer: a mime artist; an artist of the dance.

    5. a person whose work exhibits exceptional skill.

    6. a person who is expert at trickery or deceit: He's an artist with cards.

    7. Obsolete. an artisan.

    Creativity:

    1. the state or quality of being creative.

    2. the ability to transcend traditional ideas, rules, patterns, relationships, or the like, and to create meaningful new ideas, forms, methods, interpretations, etc.; originality, progressiveness, or imagination: the need for creativity in modern industry; creativity in the performing arts.

    3. the process by which one utilizes creative ability: Extensive reading stimulated his creativity.

So, in my opinion is that to be creative you must be an artist and to be an artist you must be creative...all humans have thoughts (creativity) so I suppose all humans are artists...someone correct me if I am wrong.
