Creativity?????????

Question

I am VERY bored and am in a creative mood, so any ideas on what I can make? I want to sew or tye-dye something (yes, I know tye-dye is OUT) or something like that. and DON'T say "make cookies". I need something artsy.....

Make a box out of popsicle sticks.

Then paint it.

First off Tye dye is never out!!! It's a lot of fun and you can't s***w up aye dye shirt!!! I do them EVERY year with my 5th graders and they love them. In fact it's one of the first questions I get at the start of the school year is,"Are we making Tye dyes this year?" followed by a, "YES!"

How about beading. There are a lot of different necklaces and bracelets that you do stitch beading like beaded fringe bracelets or peyote stitching.

What about weaving? You can make a loom with something as easy as cardboard. You can use yarn or fabric strips to weave.

Get a pattern for a really easy quilt square and try making some quilt squares to make a quilt. ( I'm not good at sewing, so for me it would have to be an easy pattern. You I am sure are probably more advanced than I am.)

If you don't want to sew but want to make something fun and useful get a yard of polar fleece and cut two inch fringes around the edge make the fringes one inch wide and when done tie two together all around the piece and you get a nice lap blanket.  Polar fleece is nice and warm but not heavy.  My daughter makes these for gifts and they look great.

Go to HGTV.com or craftbits.com, or go to ecologue.com and choose the topic 'crafty recycling' or check out empressofspring.blogspot.com  (just a few I've run across lately)--- there are sooooo many sites and ideas on the internet.  Just Google 'crafts' and go from there.  You'll find so many ideas, you won't have time to actually DO any of them!

(And tie-dyeing is never out--you can find ideas for that, too)

u could make puppets and a puppet show...

or u could make a mask...

or a poster of tons of different magazine cutouts...

if u have some dolls or even a sibling u could give them a makeover....

Make a castle cake.  Those are fun and require more artistic talent than most folks realize -- until they try to make one without it.

Make some beads and then make something with them.  Mix a tablespoon of white glue with a couple slices of plain old white bread, crusts removed and the bread torn into pieces.  Stir until gooey and then knead by hand.  Color it with food colors or paint it when it's dry.  It air dries.

Sew some totebags for 'green' friends to use when grocery shopping.  

Sew yourself a new shirt.

Take a plain t-shirt and sew buttons around the neck for decoration, or sew them on in a pattern on the front.

Get an old T-Shirt and Tie-dye it... I love tie-dyeing but don't have any of that dye stuff... all the possibilities with Tie-dyeing shirts! =P

Or just get a ton of buttons and sew them on a random fabric of some-sort... try and make a design with buttons! Hope this Helps!
