Credit Card Help !!!!?

Okay long long long, when i turned exactly 17 year old, i applied for lots of credit cards and got about 6 of them.

im now 19 years old and have all of them. everything is going good, up to date, good usage, never late. fico of 785.

i was born 1987 but on the report it shows 1986.

should i get it removed or just leave? counselor told me that credit bureau date of birth doesn't matter, but when u apply for credit now, use ur real date of birth .

But as for my 6 current credit cards, they all have the 1986 DOB...should i close them all ? and open new ones ? or just leavem?

i don't want to lose the history though, 785 is great for a 19 year old.

  1. The more cards you open, the more your score goes down. I would simply close all but 1. AND only use it in an emergency. Don't go buying a car or something crazy.

As far as your birthday? Just call them. I highly doubt they'll erase your credit score for a simple error.

  2. Don't close them, that can hurt your credit.  However, having too many can hurt you as well.  You should be careful not to open too many.  Also, keep the balance low.  Good credit scores, are easy to come by....that is until you lose it, then it is hard to get back up there.

  3. Just leave everything alone and use your real birthdate when you apply for credit in the future.  Closing the accounts would lower your score.
