When I buy something online with a credit card, do I have to use the credit card owner's name? I'm borrowing my mom's credit card, but can I use my name so they will deliver it to me? Or do I HAVE to put my mom's name?

  1. Usually they'll ask for the "billing address" which is where the credit card bill goes. Usually, you can place the item in your name with no problem. For instance Amazon has a "send to" section and a "billing address" section. Shouldn't be a problem.

  2. It depends on the merchant.  Some merchants will only ship to name and billing address of the credit card.  Others allow you to set a separate shipping address (in which case you could use your name and same address), but billing name/address have to match card owner.

Someone attempted to use one of my credit card numbers, but used the wrong name, so it was caught and reversed right away.
