This next week I will be traveling to london England and I don't have any idea on how I should bring money. I have access to visa but I don't know if they can get one fast enough to me before I leave. If I go to their location or something can they make me one right away? Also will they accept visas in England?

  1. If you can obtain sterling in the USA then you could bring cash thgough that is always risky! Travellers cheques can be cashed at any bank with ID such as your passsport. All major credit cards can be used in the UK, I use Visa myself!

  2. Visa & mastercard are very common, a few places have a minimum purchase £5, Chip & pin is often used instead of signing your name

you can draw cash from atms but be aware that some charge for the transaction

  3. Yes we are quite modern in the UK - we have credit cards.

ALL major cards are accepted in the UK - Visa and Mastercard - most places also accept American Express.

We also have ATM's everywhere so you can withdraw cash while you are here.

  4. Yes, as everybody has said, you can use credit cards in UK.  The only credit cards I have seen notices refusing are American Express and Diners Club.  This is because these two companies charge the retailer so much for their use and the time it takes for them to make their payment.  Visa or Mastercard are accepted by everybody (almost) and can be used in ATM's.  Travellers cheques are also useful, a mix of cash, travellers cheques and a card is always a good idea.
